Meet the interns!
Annika ReynoldsHi, I'm Annika. I am a biology student attending Lane Community College. I will be researching cyprid larvae in the Emlet lab this summer. I look forward to sharing my findings on Cyprid lipid levels. I love roller skating, my eleven pen-pals across the globe, my two cats, two guinea pigs, and the enchanting PNW woods - my forever home.

Catalina RaoHello! My name is Catalina. I am a rising Junior at New York University pursuing a degree in Biology and I'm from Sunnyvale, California. This summer I am working in Dr. Aaron Galloway's Coastal Trophic Ecology (CTE) lab on benthic organismal survey methods.

Chloe Cummins
Hi everyone! My name is Chloe Cummins, and I am from Loretto, Tennessee. I am a rising senior at the University of Tennessee Southern where I am pursuing a B.S. degree in Biology (with a concentration in Wildlife Biology and Ecology) and a minor in Sustainability. I’m super excited to be researching the reproductive ecology of eelgrass with my mentor Ali Helms at the South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve during my time here at OIMB!

Colleen WalkerHello! My name is Colleen Walker. I'm a New Yorker now living in Oregon where I am pursuing an AS in Biology at Clackamas Community College. This summer I'll be studying the European green crab alongside Dr. Shon Schooler at the South Slough National Estuary Research Reserve.

Flynn GormanHello! My name is Flynn Gorman and this summer I am working in Craig Young's Lab studying the reproductive ultrastructure of Lau Back Arc Basin hydrothermal vent gastropods Ifremeria nautilei and Alviniconcha. I am from NJ and I'm pursuing a B.S. in Biology at Trinity College in Hartford, CT. During the school year, I work in an Invertebrate Lab studying voracity and movement in dragonfly nymphs. I also work at a coffee shop on campus and act as the PR Director for my a cappella group.

Gina MagroHello everyone! I am Gina Magro, a Biology major with a minor in French. Originally from Barrington, Illinois, I will be a rising senior at UW-Stevens Point. This summer I am excited to be investigating the embryonic development of barnacles with George Von Dassow.

Victoria CardenasHello! My name is Victoria I am from Palmdale, CA. I am going into my senior year as a Zoology major at Cal Poly Humboldt. I will be in Dr. Richard Emlet's lab this summer studying sand dollar larvae and I am so excited to share my experience here at OIMB!

Ytxzae EnriquezHello all! My name is Ytxzae and I will be working in Dr. Young's Lab focusing on invertebrate larvae from the sea floor all around the world. We will be working on the Gastropods Ifremeria nautilei and Alviniconcha that live near and at deep-sea hydrothermal vents that produce high amounts of Methane, Sulfur, and Carbon Dioxide.
