My name is Jacob Ogawa, I grew up in Murrieta, California and am currently living and attending school in Santa Barbara, CA. I recently completed my second year at Santa Barbara City College and will be transferring to the University of California Santa Barbara in the Fall of 2017 pursuing a bachelors of science in Aquatic Biology. Throughout the next nine weeks at he Oregon Institute of Marine Biology's REU (Research Experience for Undergrads) I will be interning in the Richard Emlet juvenile invertebrate lab. The research I have chosen to undertake, pertains to the naupliar stages of the parasitic barnacle Peltogaster paguri. While participating in this program I am greatly looking forward towards obtaining some hands on experience both in the lab and out in the field. I am excited to explore the vast ecosystems surrounding the OIMB, along with my fellow interns and the entire OIMB faculty over the duration of the summer.
